Joy Road Construction Information

The Mercer County Highway Department received the following bids for the rehabilitation of the northern section of CH 9 (Joy Road):
Langman Construction INC.  $1,160,988.60
Brandt Construction Co.  $1,300,688.22

The Mercer County Highway Department has scheduled work to be completed on a 4 mile section of Joy Road from the north city limits of Joy north to 110th St.  The proposed work requires this section of highway be closed to thru traffic during the process of road rehabilitation and curing.  Please note that the road will be open to local residents and emergency vehicles. We anticipate the road closure starting the week of July 11th through August 19th.  It is critical during the 5 day cement curing period that large trucks and heavy farm equipment refrain from using this section of roadway to allow the pavement to attain maximum strength. We apologize for the inconveniences caused by this road and ask for the public's patience during this important construction activity.
