The function of the Board of Review is the final local review of the assessments within their jurisdiction. Other changes of the Board of Review include but not limited to:
- Hear complaints concerning real estate assessments, and rendering decisions regarding values of real property
- Defend decisions to the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board
- Determine or recommend eligibility for certain exemptions
- Apply equalization factors

The Mercer County Board of Review will be scheduling meetings for the 2021 AVYR and the Agenda will be posted at least 48 hours prior to the meeting date and time. The Mercer County Board of Review may recess as necessary for the completion of their duties.

The Mercer County CCAO will be publishing and sending 2021 change of assessment and notice to taxpayer September 15, 2021 and the deadline to file any appeal with the Board of Review is 30 days after publication. Publication of the change of assessment notice to taxpayer will be published in the Aledo Times Record. Appeal forms and rules are available at the Mercer County Supervisor of Assessments Office, the Mercer County Board of Review Office, or obtain them on the Mercer County website: mercercountyil.org by clicking the links highlighted above.
