     The function of the Board of Review is the final local review of the assessments within their jurisdiction.  Other changes of the Board of Review include but not limited to:

  • Hear complaints concerning real estate assessments, and rendering decisions regarding values of real property
  • Defend decisions to the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board
  • Determine or recommend eligibility for certain exemptions
  • Apply equalization factors

Note: All board of review rules, complaint forms for both farm and non farm properties, checklist and procedures can be obtained  in the Documents section of this website and at the Supervisor of Assessments Office



The Mercer County Board of Review will be in session August 1, 2017 for the 2017 assessment year.  All meetings willl be scheduled as needed and the Agenda will be posted at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.  The Board of Review may recess as necessary for the completion of their duties.                             Mary McClellan  Clerk to the Mercer County Board of Review

The Mercer County CCAO will be publishing and sending 2017 change of assessment and notice to taxpayer on August 30, 2017.  The deadline to file any appeal with the Board of Review is September 29, 2017.  (You have 30 days after publication to file appeal.)  All appeal forms and rules are available on the Mercer County website: , the Supervisor of Assessments Office and the Board of Review Office.
